Graduate Credit Requirements
for
Fall 2003 WV-Handle On Science (C&I 930) through WVU

 

  • Attend and participate in the summer session and in the follow-up day

  • Attend an additional sixteen hours of professional development sessions related to elementary science education that may include but are not limited to:

  • Roundtable discussion group sessions (most at two hours each)—See schedule on website or in list serve messages (also posted at schools)

  • Northern Regional Consortium Math, Science, and Technology Share-A-Thon on November 1, 2003 from 9-3 at the WLSC Warwood Center Gymnasium and WLSC SMART-Center (8 contact hours)

  • WVSTA or NSTA Conferences (eight hours per day)

  • Project WILD, Project WET, Project Learning Tree, AIMS, GEMS, etc.

  • ASTROLABE astronomy club star watches (every third Wednesday of the month at WLSC SMART-Center at dusk)

  • Complete reading assignments (in notebook)

  • Develop a content extension or integration plan for use in conjunction with science kit

  •  Complete written evaluation of use of kit in the classroom and submit anonymous samples of student work and assessment

  •  ALL written work is due to Libby Strong at 1610 Warwood Avenue, Wheeling, WV 26003 no later than December 1, 2002!!!
