June 25 & 26, 2009 Space Science Activities for students entering Grades 3 - 7 Facilitated and hosted by West Liberty State College SMART-Center, 1610 Warwood Avenue, Wheeling, WV 26003 The active center for science, mathematics, and research technology in the Northern Ohio Valley since 1996. A member of the Association of Science and Technology Centers since 2002 Hosted by Brooke Hills Park, Wellsburg, West Virginia Teaching Staff: Sessions: (Day one and Day Two) Site: Brooke Hills Park Cardinal Shelter, Wellsburg, WV 4 miles east of Wellsburg on Route 27 Participants: 40 students entering grades three through seven may attend. The first forty completed applications will be accepted. Many activities will be in grade level groups. Please complete the application, print, and return with a check for $60.00 made out to the West Liberty State College SMART-Center. Activities: Learn about our natural satellite, the
Moon, and
several of your favorite planets such as Mars and Saturn through fun
activities.
View the crescent moon and Jupiter through telescopes at the family
star
watch each evening. Make rockets (different kinds) and launch them. Use
of the Brooke Hills Park pool and miniature golf will be incorporated
into
the activities for the camp. New activities for return campers! Participants Costs: $60.00 is the cost of the two day camp with all materials, use of pool and miniature golf, snacks and two summer cookout suppers included in the fee. Questions?
