SMART-Center Co-Sponsored Events for April 2010

April 16 - Monthly STARWATCH at Brooke Hills Park’s Cardinal Shelter at 8:00 p.m. Co-sponsored by Near Earth Object Foundation, SMART-Center, Brooke Hills Park, ASTROLABE Astronomy Club, and SMART Centre Market. Free and open to the public. The public is encouraged to bring telescopes. Telescopes will also be provided.

April 23 - Telescope Building Workshop from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at SMART Centre Market, 30 22^nd Street, Wheeling. Parent / child teams will receive a Galileoscope kit to assemble under guided instruction of SMART-Center personnel. Build the telescope and use it that evening during a sidewalk STARWATCH. A fee of $45 per team includes the Galileoscope kit, guided instruction, and ice cream snacks at SMART Centre Market. Limited to 10 teams. For reservations call 304-23-DINOS.

April 24 - Fifth Annual West Virginia Kite Festival at Brooke Hills Park’s Cardinal Shelter. From 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. First 100 children will receive a free kite to fly at the event. Co-sponsored by Near Earth Object Foundation, SMART-Center, Brooke Hills Park, ASTROLABE Astronomy Club, and SMART Centre Market. April 24 - National Astronomy Day at Brooke Hills Park’s Cardinal Shelter. From 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m..
